Sarah Michelle Gellar was joined by her daughter, Charlotte Grace, at the premiere of her latest Netflix teen drama, Do Revenge. While the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum walked the red carpet alone before joining some of her A-list co-stars, including Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things’ Maya Hawke, she later posed for a rare photo with her 12-year-old daughter, whom she shares with husband Freddie Prinze Jr. The couple are also parents to 10-year-old son, Rocky Prinze. The photo sparked fan interest, as the I Know What You Did Last Summer alum has kept her children largely out of the spotlight, even putting emojis over their faces when she posts family photos on Instagram. For the screening, Gellar rocked a bronze sequin dress and neutral makeup, while her daughter—who air kissed her on the cheek in the adorable snap—opted for a lively hot pink blazer with matching slacks and eye makeup, along with white kicks. The 45-year-old has seemingly taken on a mentor role with her co-stars, sharing a few snaps on social media with the caption: “Revenge mommies and their protégés.” She also shared a few more behind-the-scenes photos from the evening while shouting out her “glam mothers” in the caption. In the dark comedy, the former Cruel Intentions actress tackles the role of the headmaster at the school where Mendes and Hawke’s characters form an unlikely friendship and concoct a plan to get revenge on their bullies. Gellar told ET that the role was “delicious” and evoked a sense of “nostalgia,” adding, “I also felt the excitement of sort of the reincarnation of these kinds of movies because you never grow out of these.” In fact, the film’s writer and director, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, told IndieWire that she wrote Gellar’s character as a rebirth to her Cruel Intentions character, Kathryn Merteuil. “To me what’s even better than paying homage is to redefine and bring something to a new generation,” Gellar later told Netflix’s Tudum, adding, “And that’s exactly what Jenn does with this film.” The film is now streaming on Netflix.
